A Really Nice '79 SC

I'd like to think that when my car is done, it will be 10% better than this car. It's certainly similar to what I'm going for.

I hope it sells for every bit of $100K.

I don't mind green on a 911, not sure I'd go with this green though.

Well, this is good news for my 78SC, that's for sure.

Looks like a nice home built hot rod. Doesn’t say who built the engine. The one single name drop in the whole thing is a John Walker rebuilt steering rack. I think it’s strong money for such a car. It’s a nice well done car. It just lacks proper “papers “ to bring all the money.

Sometimes I just quote myself. The engine and gearbox in the 75 cost as much to put together as the SC sold for...

I get that there is a ton of money in the mods / restoration and it seems hot rods are all the rage, but it's interesting to me that a 200k color change car sells for this much, more than an original.

Nice looking car but that seems like "all the money" for what it is. Not sure where the $100k was coming from?

I said "I hope".

Explain why this one would sell for $195K, I can't.

https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/dealtank-1975-porsche-911-r-gruppe-outlaw/

Sold then and listed again: Will be interesting to see if it comes close to that again but already at $152K

https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/dealtank-1975-porsche-911-r-gruppe-outlaw-1/

None of the modified car's prices make sense to me. But I hope it continues.

What makes you think it sold the first time at $195? I see where it says sold but I seriously doubt it sold there.

The bidder in that auction outbid himself 2 times before it sold with no other bids. Looks pretty sketchy to me.
I don't see how that's a $200k car.

I don't think that first deal actually closed. And why would you buy that 75 Hot Rod when you could get a sweet early Turbo for similar money or less?

I have owned a couple of turbo's from the 80's and they're not really my cup of tea. I would rather have the hot rod.

I'm not too terribly familiar with Pcar Market but it says "previously sold" in the current auction. No reason to doubt them.

Is Pcar Market not credible?

Pcar is not credible.

But that car is real and building the engine and gearbox in it cost more than that SC sold for.
