Got a leak down test of 85% on cylinder 1. Mechanic is recommending an engine rebuild v a valve guide fix. Time to bail.

You're so pessimistic about this 993.

Pessimistic because I can’t afford a 15k engine rebuild. I love the car, but I’ve got a good offer for it that I don’t want to pass on now that I know the condition of the engine.

I’m not real bright. What is that?

Italian Tune Up. That's when you go and drive the crap out of the car for an hour or two (not 15 minutes!), getting it all hot and bothered and hopefully blowing/burning up any carbon buildup that could be causing your leak/s. If your car has not been driven regularly and/or babied, it might be just the ticket.

Nice Toughbook.
How much RAM you running?

sugarwood 10-25-2020 10:31 AM

Sell it.
You're clearly done with it.
Now you have a reason.

A car that I have been after for more than 2 years now is finally available, and a deal has been reached w the seller. So it all worked out and I won’t have any regrets getting rid if the 993. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1603657284.jpg

That might be the best color on any 911 ever.
Congrats

Thanks! Couldn’t agree more, although Minerva blue might be a close second. Doing a ppi and leakdown Tuesday. 🤞
