Found one.
In regards to using the Tequip one on a aircooled Porsche, I have been using one for more than 3 yrs. with no problem. I have mine connected directly to the terminals.

Yes, direct to terminals work, but cig lighter will not. It did work on my 987 and 996turbo.

Does your vehicle have an outlet in the passenger footwell?

My 987 did, but not the 996tt. IIRC, the maintainer worked best in the center console lighter.
