Time capsule 89 Speedster value?

Folks, I've been trying to help a friend sell a car. It is a museum piece, that has never seen the road with only 26 miles on it. He purchased it brand new, having it flatbeded
to his home. It has been stored and properly maintained in an environmentally controlled environment.
It is an 89 Speedster, silver with black top and interior with sport seats. Also has LSD.
What do you think the value is?

JD

Call the Ingram Collection aka Road Scholars. That’s the kind of car they would pay all the money for.

$300,000 + due to the fact it only has delivery miles.

I agree, Marshall Goldman had one with 200 miles they were asking close to 400,000. It’s my understanding that the speedster market has softened. Ask me how I know

Under 300k. BAT known for bringing all the money, had one last year with something like 50 miles, it didn't sell with final bid at just over $200k. Any one buying would probably keep as a museum piece, as to start driving there will probably be some gremlins to deal with. Car sat too long with no bringing engine/rubber/seals up to temperature.

^^^ Agree^^ market has softened. In 2015 it would be 350k +

I would guess silver may be more valuable than GR or black?. 225 -265k range if you find the right buyer. Surprisingly there are several delivery miles only or very low millage speedsters that are popping up for sale.

I still feel this is a $300,000+ value car. While the market has fallen, a delivery mileage 89 speedster would still be worth a premium.

I've had mine since 1999. I watched Mecum in I believe 2014, a white Speedster think it had a few thousand miles sell for $305k before buyers premium. I never considered selling mine even then. Bought it just after getting married, too emotionally attached to it. And it is just a fantastic car. The new one's don't have the same smell and feel when you get into them. They don't even have the same door thud.

There is a smell to an AC 911 that is like nothing else. The new cars definitely don't have it. And no I'm not talking about carbs. I'm talking about the actual interior of the car; the fabrics and adhesives, etc. They are 100% Porsche.

I couldn’t agree more. I have a speedster with 6000 original miles. The smell in the interior takes me right back to 1989. I love how well the car is made, very solid, especially the click of the doors. Definitely not selling mine. It’s a keeper.

Mine has 100% original interior and I don't think the carpet will make it much longer.
I've watched a lady stick her head inside the window of my car and take a big sniff. She looked to her husband and said, " I love that old leather smell."

We're on the same page on this one, no controversy, kinda odd. There was a comedy in the late 80's, back when they made comedies. The story line was a guy needed money real bad so he sold his Porsche to a male escort company. To get to still drive his car, he got a part time job there. When he got into the car with the lady he was escorting, he breathed real deep and said, "Doesn't it smell great" My wife said to me, " OMG, you're not the only one saying that.

Hmmm.. I always told myself it was still the new car smell.

I have had mine since 1992 - had 34 miles on it when I purchased it. Still love the lines of the car , especially with the top down.

Right on, if you don’t love these cars, might want to check your pulse, you may be in trouble
