Help with value - 1972 911T Coupe barn find
Hi,
I have owned this 1972 911T Coupe since 2009. Prior to that the car was stored for 20+ years in a barn in CA. The car is 95% complete but does need restoration, and it does have a clear CA title.. I believe it has the original 2.4L MFI motor (I have not done a COA), but was originally a sportomatic which had been swapped out for 915 5-speed. I had the front pan and lateral supports professionally replaced back in 2011 and the car has sat in my shop since. The car is very straight and rust free. I am considering selling as I'm not sure when/if I will ever get to the restoration. Pictures attached. If I were to sell, what would be a fair value to list it at? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Still here

Floorpan looks good, headliner, seats, dash "pristine", being a CA thing, and it's a 72.
$25K is low. It will be an old school race at that. Heck, I'll buy it. |

My logic.....
Buying at $25,000 allows for a completed #2 at a total all in from $80,000 to $100,000. Motor and Transmission recommissioning: $20,000, Interior refresh $5,000, suspension, brakes and tires $10,000, Body and Paint: $25,000 Car $25,000 Total: $85,000 10% Contingency: $8,500 $93,500.00

I love how it's always Millennials vs Boomers and everyone just skips over us Gen X kids like we don't exist.
![]() You really think Boomers bought bitcoin? I doubt it.

Um, Bitcoin, Litecoin and Etherium... and I'm definitely a 'boomer.'
It'll be interesting to see if this car ends up Sepia once the requisite $93.5K is spent...

Apparently we don’t. One lot lumps us in with boomers and the other with Millenials. If only we were individuals with our own thoughts and behaviors...

Boomers in the long nose market know what these things cost and what they are worth. Wet behind the ears Gen Z’s will over pay for a project. Do you actually disagree with that? That’s my first post you took issue with.

Green is for sarcasm, no?
As opposed to humor. For that I always remember The NY Times contest that had you add or change one letter to a word or phrase to change its meaning. The one that had “Cogito eggo sum” as ‘I think therefore I am a waffle’ as the winner. The entry I’m talking about was “sarchasm”. Which was defined as ‘the gap between what I think is funny and what others do’... |
