Is this really a 1974 911 Carrera?

I thought Carreras had 3.0 engines.

Nope. Street Carreras all had 2.7s for 74 and 75. the Carrera 3 didn't start until 1976.

As Derrick stated- need the vin . If it is a real 74 carrera / targa, the vin should start 911441XXX

Things that are not correct for a 74 Carrera: Dual Flag mirrors, Front valance, fog lights, painted headlight rings, Seats, door panels, door lock knob, dual exhaust tips. This car has been for sale for at least six months - perhaps longer

PS: Looks like electric windows, it is my understanding but perhaps I am wrong, electric windows were only on the coupe in 74, all targas had hand crank windows??

Not relevant to the current conversation, so it wasn’t mentioned.

If it's a '74, most likely the entire door assembly is from a later car. Doesn't have opening vent windows, either.

That was a difference between coupes and targas in 74 Carreras.

After a little research, here is a article from Car and Driver dated Feb. 1974. It explains the differences. A good read.
