911 996 Targa?

Hey All - I am looking for a "new" car after selling my 84 Targa. Wondering if anyone has thoughts / experiences with the 996 Targa since I like the open top but am not sure I want to go Cab.

They seem a bit rare and prices seem a bit high - but I might try to track one down.

Anyone know if the Targa tops are reliable, or am I facing high potential for leaks, rattles, and squeaks???

I am not understanding why you would want a 996 over a air cooled 3.2???
