Collectingcars web site

Anyone familiar with the auction site called collecting cars . com? It appears they have been in business for a couple of years now, based in London, UK.

I’ve seen a few of their auctions through FB. They appear kind of like a UK BaT but far less established.

I wonder if that is good or bad? I was thinking of putting my car on there this summer.
When some one says it's bad timing in reference to BAT what is considered good timing?
I had my car on BAT and someone had said it was bad timing that's why it didn't gather as many bids.

Maybe it was just some random comment from someone trying to fit in and be part of the crowd.

Or maybe there was a similar competing car at the same time?

Don’t really know without context. Was this your 76 Carrera?

At some point you may have to come to terms with that fact that your car isn't worth as much as you wish it was. Your BAT auction had 50,000 eyeballs on it so you can't ask for more exposure than that. In terms of timing the market always slows during the holidays, which is why we don't sell cars between Thanksgiving and March, but your car was for sale long before this seasonal slowdown.
I know you've argued the value of your car in the past but I think should be your wakeup call. Great car, but it isn't worth $200,000-250,000 and anyone who says it is, ask them when to expect payment, if it's not forthcoming, then that isn't actually a valuation.

Collecting cars is moving into Canada, a friend of mine is heading up the expansion. They held a coffee and cars last on Sunday that was really well attended. From what I've heard they've had some success in the UK. And yes, it looks like they're going to go head-to-head with BaT (at least here in Canada), which is probably a good thing.
