Autorader scam?
 

Hi All. just listed a 07 C class benz. Have no experience with this site or selling cars online. . The autotrader forwards these responses to my email, But i guess does not give out my email or any other details.

I am getting a few hits .. like this as an example

" i’m interested & satisfied with the price and condition. I’m cool with the price like wise the condition as described on the advert on My mode of payment will be check and it going to be mail out to you via FedEx kindly get back to me with your full name, address, state, city, apt# "

from the advert. they already have my home location .

So are these legit? ot just phishing for info?

My guess is that the next reply you get will be that the car is a surprise gift, the person is out to sea on a secret mission and that they’ll pay you via PayPal and send someone to pick it up.

SCAM
He'll send you a check in excess of your price so you can pay the shipper. Check won't clear but by then he'll be silent.
Don't give any personal information out.
Last time this happened to me I played along, finally requesting hookers and beer as part of the deal.
That shut him up.
