Does this make sense? 1973 911 with G-Body Bumpers?

Hey Guys,

Short and sweet. I am assisting in a possible purchase a 1973 911. Yes, the photos are terrible.

I'm not 100% sure if its a T or an E. Vin starts with 911310xxxx

The weird part is that it still retains the long hood, but has G Body style bumpers? As well as a whale tail.

The body seems to still be standard and not SC or wide flare converted but the bumper throw me off.

Let me know your thoughts. I have a friend who wants a project and this one definitely needs lots of work so I'm trying to guage what is a fair "if all else" fails price for him.

Thanks everyone

"Updated" by an unknowledgable person a long while back. Original color is a beautiful yellow. A lot of paint to remove! White fan, black Fuchs, white all over the front trunk!

It's a 911T, but need the last 4 digits to determine CIS or MFI.

73T.
I’d love to see the mounting brackets, when you rip the bumpers off.

Not the worst "updated" 73 I've seen. This one was a full metal slant nose, even had unicorns etched in the glass, except it was a matching #'s 73S and the guy I bought it from was soooooo proud of it.

This is correct. It has a 5/73 production date so should have the 2.4 CIS.

What would you pay for something like that in todays market? Assuming its a 911T and not an E/S.

Depending on where the car is perhaps asking a reputable garage to take a look. If the car is near Redmond, Bellevue, or Seattle then call Redmond European and ask for the owner, Monty. Monty may or may not be able to help, but if it works he is extremely knowledgable.

Thanks for the information.

I was looking for a little assistance in taking care of final payment to the seller since he only wanted cash but I got it all squared away!

Hopefully it will get picked up early next week and delivered to me shortly after.

It's no yellow 912, but maybe worth a comment or 30.

It doesn't make sense, but there it is nonetheless. I'm curious to see better photos of the front end once you get it.

Hopefully it will arrive and I'll post some more pics when I'm back in town. Going to Hawaii next week 🌴

The driver fender was backed into 20 some years ago so it's pretty crunched. The car comes with a brand new fender which is cool I guess.
