78 SC Sport Seats in Black Vinyl.

What is a reasonable asking price for 1978 Sport Seats? They look good overall. The insert of the drivers side is cracking and has a split along the seam.

Everything works fine, sliders, tilt and back adjust.

As cores to re-cover, $1,200 to 1,500

In perfect re-covered (leather) shape, $3-4k

Thanks, Do you think these should be considered cores to recover?

large items like seats come down to where the buyer is. if you have to ship them any distance one, or both parties will have to take a hit. full value can only be realized somewhat locally.

then again you could put them on BAT and get $8k shipped. you know how particular porschephiles can be and money is no object.. GLWS.

These look like decent driver quality seats; I’ll split the difference at $2500…

There used to be an upholstery shop up in the Vancouver or Seattle area that would take standard Porsche seats and convert and recover into sport seats. They looked indistinguishable from the real ones.

Are they still around, anyone remember their name? Are there other shops that do this?

Those babies would look sweet in my 78 Coupe. Unfortunately I've got Recaros instead.

I think you are referring to All City Convertibles, and yes they are still there. We have had several cars done by these folks and love their genuine passion, which makes paying a bit more easier

Btw. I am looking for sport seats to reupholster for our 77 911S, which currently have the comfort seats. Interested when you are ready to sell, but this set looks too nice

I was really hoping for 3k. Thanks for the interest from
everyone that messaged me. I’ll consider offers. I should probably post a for sale thread.

That would not be possible for the non-sport seats of this era, as the exterior brackets are unique to the sport seats. That's one reason why these trade for $$$, even as cores.
