1991 964 Project Value
Looking to see what a 1991 964 project with a salvage title is worth.
Previous owner bought the car from the insurance company from a theft recovery. The car was transformed to a 993 with fiberglass parts. I started to convert the car back to a 964 and have sourced all factory parts (front fenders, bumpers, quarter panels). The rear quarters still need to be welded. 165,000 miles Car runs and drives, but has some leaks mainly from the thermostat. Interior was converted to a 993. Thanks.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641748190.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641748190.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641748190.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641748190.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641748190.jpg |

That might be a good question to ask Singer since you are close by, that is if you don't want to keep it. Looks like a nice car to build on! I like the look as it is. Just sayin... |
I would venture to say the closer you can get it to fully operating the more valuable it will be but I guess that is a given ...
As is it is a project and requires assembly paint and some mechanical repair , with the salvage branded title it can further reduce immediate values . With most if not all required parts that adds some fraction since acquiring these parts is getting way more difficult and expensive . As a WAG I'd have to say in the $17.5 to $22.5 area , the increased values of complete non branded vehicles has in turn still benefited all categories .. I heard from a buddy who had a salvage '91 turbo chassis no where near complete sold at $100 k so go figure they have made incredible gains recently just check bring a trailer Bert |

Logical pricing is a fallacy today……..Post your price somebody will bite.

Parting a car and selling parts online is a pain in the arss for too many reasons.
Unless you are an established online junkyard. Sell the whole project and move on |
A 964 engine needing rebuild today sells for $18-20k a 5 speed box needing rebuild sells for $8500- 9000. If it is a C4 trans is worth $2k maybe $3k. In good condition for both add 30%.
The car has lots of needs a better candidate for a wide body RSR build than a restoration but drop $45-50k into it and you might find a buyer for it. Good running C4''s are selling for 6 figures+. Good running C2's are selling for $150k+. If you can prove the car has no structural damage and document the restoration you could see the S title be less of an issue. Too bad it is in LA. I have a lot of people interested in it for the drivetrain and others needing doonar tubs. |
