Dad's 993, price check?
Dad's thinking about selling his 993 for a GT3. We are clueless on what it could be worth. Any help on what to expect price wise would be appreciated.
1995, 208k miles. Car has been raced in PCA Club, before being brought back to street in the last 10k miles. Within last 10k miles. Rebuilt Engine to 3.8. Rasant GT3 Plenum, forged internals, knife edge crank, motec ecu. $50k engine build. 12 coils etc. Dialed in. Gearbox rebuilt at 160k. New polar silver paint. Narrow turbo front bumper and euro rear. Headlight washer delete. GT3 rear suspension, PSS9's, Turbo brakes etc etc etc. Has not been tracked since engine rebuild or paint. |
993 market is hot. There’s a FB group called 993 Rennlisters where people post a ton of comps.

Gear oil for the 1979 SC was a good one. Changed it after 400 track kms and it smelled and looked new. Sticking with the Motul HD! |
This is a tough one to value, as it has high miles and is "out" for the collectors, but it is definitely a big "in" for the enthusiasts with the rebuild / mods. There look to be more enthusiast buyers into 993 than there used to be. Go poke around on BAT to see what's been happening there with 993 hot rods. If possible, I'd list it on BAT with very detailed documentation and let the market speak.

If you were the typical American seller, you would put it on BaT and make no mention of the racing history. You might be able to get more for it down there than here, just because of supply shortages where you live. But there are plenty of buyers willing to pay shipping. |
