We Got Our Hands On A 1992 964 Turbo..

Hello Everyone,

Life has been very busy and it's been a bit of time since my usual video updates but we got something new.

1992 Porsche 964 Turbo
- 26k original miles

Car was apparently sold by the previous owner, and damaged by the transport company on the way to the new owner. We got ahold of the owner while he was battling his insurance company for 2/3 years and finally struck a deal about a month ago.

This is a good reminder to make sure you are comfortable with the 'agreed value' on an air-cooled or other car you have insured. You will save yourself a lot of time and headache dealing with insurance companies who don't want to pay up.

We get the car home, and begin the repair process. The car hasn't ran for 3 years so it will need some basics. Our main focus was getting the suspension fixed to be able to have it back on all 4 wheels and movable.

Congrats on the find. A shame it was so badly damaged. FYI the rear trailing arm is not salvageable and you could just hammer out the fender to drive it but it will need a full alignment. Are you sure the tub wasn't tweaked? It takes a lot of force to break a trailing arm like that.

I guess they'll find out when they take it to the alignment shop!

We realized the axle was busted also and replaced it.

Took it for a spin a few weeks ago.

It will be heading to get body work started in the fall time.

Motor will also come out to address some leaks.

2023 progress to come

Had one with 18k on it. It was too damned civilized!

Part 3!!

We trusted the artists @Pete's Custom Coachbuilding to handle the body and mechanicals for this build! Check out their shop!!

Not much Matty Matt, staying busy. We are currently under contract on our first home, and I've been busy with some real estate stuff but hoping to get back into the cars soon.

Thanks and I hope everything is good on your side!

You found and bought a house that’s excellent. I know with higher interest rates inventories have gotten better and making a deal is more possible. Well done.

You are exactly right on that. I believe we got a very sweet deal (even though we will be doing a decent remodel) even considering the cooling market. Moving the two projects to the garage is one of the first things on the list.

Thanks!

To watch the younger generation struggle and hustle is entertaining as hell. I have three of my own doing the same as you and it's not always comfortable to watch, but certainly familiar.

To try to explain that to them is an impossible "back in my day" moment, but believe us when we tell you, we struggled just like you. Maybe more. Maybe less.

If you keep the impetus going, you will do way better than average. I'm rooting for you Itza. Always have been!

Coming together. Keep up the good work.

Ps. It’s an engine, not a motor. Motors are for EVs…
