Autoweek
Says in new article that classic car prices are going through the roof. Amazing in this economy. Saw it on Flipboard!

All car prices have gone way up.
1. Parts shortages from worldwide auto supplier factory closures (COVID) = New car slowdown. 2. Used cars going up in value because of new car shortages. 3. Classic cars swept up in it all. With reopenings, its normalizing slightly, but the classics will be last - if ever. Different audience. |

should have invested in air cooled 911's in the early 2000's instead of pissing all my money away into a retirement account.

I know what you mean about the retirement account.
And that would have been a great idea. If only we knew. 😀 |

That’s almost 1000% increase at todays price. Good job. What will you do with the profit? So many choices.

Problem is I have no interest in liquidating my cars. My turbo is at 1000% increase. Basing that on offers I have had. My other cars are at 500-750% but as my wife says I have a hard time selling so. I retire a poor man.

I have a pretty good idea of how you think from this forum, Anthony. I'd say you're a rich man, however you want to define it. Good for you.

None of it is worth anything until you actually sell.

As far as the stock market, or the classic car market, kind of the same thing. There is no profit until you sell, but it sure is nice watching the market outperform and sure nice to get those offers! Some day we will just accept, then probably regret it. 😂

Of course it isn't. At the end of the day all the offers in the world mean nothing until the money is in the bank. Although they are talking about raising my property taxes 30% or more. I am already paying triple the national average if not more and the cost of living in NJ is just crazy stupid and some are trying to find ways to tax personal possessions like autos yearly vs just upon purchase. That will hurt as I am retired and have a fixed car budget. LOL
I was lucky enough to buy a fair amount of gold when it was only $330 an ounce. I have far more silver but as they say Tomorrow never knows. Although another thing I am not parting with at this time. IMO it is becoming less certain by the day. Crazy world we live in. Soon we will be controlled by our government as our freedoms are slowly consumed. If the powers that be have their way we'll all be driving government owned EV's and crushing our beloved cars. ![]() Nick thanks for the kind words.

Timing is everything. Very nice 600% increase on the gold.
Maybe we should start an investing thread. It would definitely include classic cars. Along with precious metals, oil, lithium mining, rare earth metals, real estate… Standing by to click the buy button. And I have read about the proposed ban on privately owned vehicles in some regions. That’s just insanity. |

Having spent the summers in cottage country in Canada for over 2 decades, I learned how different life can be outside the metropolitan NY/NJ area. I'm from metro NY and my wife is from metro NJ. We both grew up here and live here now.
Once you leave and spend time away from the hustle and bustle, you change. I always preferred Canada and Canadians to metro NY and Americans. It's a nicer way of life and the people are nicer. Now that we've been living in coastal CT away from the big cities, it's the same vibe. People are so nice and polite, nobody is cutting you off or weaving in and out of traffic or driving down the street with big flags in the back of their trucks. Once we renovate the CT house, we're leaving metro NY for good. Same thing goes for NJ if you ask me.

Holy Cow. There's a whole other world out there if you look hard enough.
Some interesting ones there! Like the Beautiful Women one, where a guy posted his wife's pic. Jeez. She's watching over his shoulder no doubt. Thx |
