Garage
Porsche Crest St Pete Hurricane/Flood Prep

I had some time this morning before Ian arrives so... Here' my emergency plan for flooding. I'm lucky enough to have a bunch of cars but when a storm comes you got to be quick. In the back of my mind I knew I would not be able to move all the cars out of the area so this is the next best thing. I took the 928 and the F430 to a high rise parking garage and parked on the 2nd floor. Next purchased a couple 30x30 tarps. pushed the car onto them. placed the car cover on the car to protect the paint from the plastic and grommets. wrapped the tarp over the top and tied it with a bungy cord. looks like a burrito when your done. What you are looking at is a 993,early 911. With that 30x30 i was able to wrap both my g-body and 912 together with 1 tarp. It was a little short at the top so if you had a 30x50 you could do 2 cars easily. i don't think the flooding will be that bad where i'm at so i'm good with what I did. My hope is that any saltwater/fresh water will just push up against the car and keep my cars dry. Lastly used the lift to put the 356 up 5 ft high. Will report back how it all goes

Stay safe. I was just watching cars in Naples getting washed down the street on the news.

It looks like we dodged the worse part of the storm. I was in same boat as you, luckily a friend let me park my cars in a six story condo parking lot in downtown St Pete

That’s like military-style emergency planning. Good job.

That’s just shocking! You must be a wreck. Soooo sorry to see.
Same car in the garage and on the street (river)? How did that happen?

That is unreal!!! I’m trying to wrap my head around that kind of storm.
Let us know how it shakes out with getting settled somewhere, insurance, etc.

This was a few storms ago but I always admired the forethought of this guy.
