Value of 993 motor
I have a 1996 993 Vario Ram engine that is complete. Engine has 130,000 mi and was removed from a running 993. The motor was represented to me as a solid great running motor.
This motor has been sitting on a pallet in my shop for a couple of years and I am considering selling it. Trying to determined a market value for this engine. John |
most go somewhere between $25 and $30K, but many of those are lower millage.
I would start at $27K and take somewhere around the 23-24K range. Good luck |
Seems a bit high a few months back they were $18k-20k with those miles maybe less. A friend just picked up a 3.6T motor and trans for $30k so deals are still happening,

I checked out those two rollers myself, thinking of putting together a whole 993. If I remember, one is a cab and the other a targa. If there was a coupe available, I might have pursued that course.
I will try to make the availability of my engine known to the ebay watchers and potential purchasers. Thanks for info. John |
A 993 engine with 100K mi was listed for sale on 10/9 asking $29K. I am going to watch that listing and try to gain a feel for pricing. Will list my eng for sale after the other one sells so that we are not competing.

At that price I can sell you a never used non serialized factory case already bored out for 3.8 on up P&C's for $8k and you can build the engine yourself and make a heck of an engine for less. You can buy new cases from the factory or $8k and use custom parts. Pricing has gotten out of control.
