value for 3.2 / 915 combo?
hi all,
I'm considering swapping my drivetrain for a tesla-based EV one, and i'm wondering what the value of the existing gasoline drivetrain might be? A few details - about 70k on the motor and transaxle, original to the car - transaxle rebuilt about 2k miles ago - well maintained, minimal oil burned, records going back at least 10 years - new clutch / pp 2k miles ago. The flywheel was good, i had it resurfaced - would of course include all the motronic stuff The EV kit i'm going to install requires no chassis modifications so it could be 100% reversed...basically I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping and storing the OE drivetrain and how much $$ I'd be leaving on the table, as the EV kit is not cheap. Thanks Rich |
I’d say around $30,000 if compression and leak down numbers are good
Seams a shame to ruin the heart and soul though. |
Just sell the entire car.... And buy some prebuilt EV trash before dismembering a piece of automotive history...
Careful around the ocean, they have a funny tendency to explode :) |
$25-30k.

Save the drive train for putting it back to stock. Shame to do this to an original 70k car. You will be creating a rapidly depreciating asset IMO.

$25k +/-

I think $25K is a fair price.

Been 11 years, but I was real happy to buy this high compression 3.2 for $4,500:
