RUF front Valance
Hi mates!
I think that I am about to give up on my dreams of going back into the 930 crazyness. I was keeping this RUF valance for my future acquisition, but since it looks like it may never happen, I am entertaining moving on from it. Any clue of what is worth these days? I know that they are like hens teeth, but I have been disconnected for 10 years now. I also have a set of the RUF wheels that needed refinishing. They are the ones made by AVUS, not Speedline. I need some advise on their worth as well. Not selling. Just looking for info. I have the itch on to a second air-cooled 911 and I need to fund it. Thank you, Miguel |
I’m interested in the wheels.

prices for this stuff is whatever someone is willing to pay. Rare or obscure is relative as not everyone needs them. Couple of questions.. is it a real Ruf, and how complete is it, is there a price you had in mine, and where located??
The wheels, 8 & 9 or 9 & 10 ?? |
I bought a pretty nice one from a Pelican a few months ago; it's getting installed as we speak.
I paid $1600 for it, and that was before shipping/painting/installing it...ugh. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/1112744-genuine-ruf-polyurethane-front-valance.html |
The valance is real. It has all the markings. The center grille is also there. I initially bought it for my (former) 930 when I was installing a center cooler, but it did not arrive in time and I installed a TurboKraft valance instead, which looked so good that did not drive me to change it. I ended up selling the car http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/a_frusty.gif and ended up with it. I kept my dream of returning to 930 ownership, but I am being realistic. I am not quite sure that I have completely given up, but I am moving again and need to start getting rid of stuff, so I am exploring what the market holds for these in case that I need to drop some weight.
Gentlemen, never give up your 930. You will miss it forever.... |

Understand where you are.. as I've gotten rid of a couple of 930's in the past, had parts left and wondered if I should have kept the car.. Luckily, I had one that was stashed-off and waiting to be un-moth balled, as the market has changed so much both up/down over the last few years. So anyway, that being said.. I'd be interested in the valence, and possibly wheels. It's all about the numbers, I'm willing to pay a fair price if you want to unload, but not interested in the feeding frenzy prices that now occur due to perceived rarity driven by those just getting into the hobby, or the ones with more money than God. Please PM me and/or post pics and location. Thx |
How about some pictures?
|
I will pull it out of the box later this week for some pics. The wheels are in storage, so it will be a project to take pictures, but I will try. They are straight and true, but have some scuffs that will need refinishing.
As I said, I was just trying to get an idea of value, for when the time comes I can just offer for whatever market trends would be. I am hitting the wall of reality, but I have not given up yet. |
On the other hand, if any of you guys have a 930 that want to part ways with and are OK with an interesting possible trade situation involving money, watches, guitars and a 928 (of the 20%), maybe I can keep the stuff.

Put this same question in the 930 forum. There are a bunch of knowledgeable people who hang out there and never come down to this forum.
|
I will, thank you.

Yep. I was heavy into Panerai back in the late 90's early 2000's, so I have a nice collection.

Hi
Do you still have the RUF valance left? If, is it for sale? Br Miche |

I also previously offered to purchase, still waiting for price. |

Always interested in Ruf BTR conjecture or parts though. My 89'BTR III cab is already on the market here (all in bits). 25 years ago I resprayed it in original colour Ruf yellow. It's a 3.2 ROW Carrerra 89'by vin (and WPO). Ruf did it out with a 964 Turbo body kit, so side skirts, front and rear bumpers including the fan driven oil cooler and A/C compressor inner front fenders. In addition it has the front valence Ruf oil cooler. Got rid of the muffler due to water damage pre 2000, last year, thinking to go back original, bought a BTR muffler from Tate (Askew935) 0 no miles on it, sitting on shelf for decades. That however has outlets coming out of rear corners vs my 964 turbo rear bumper straight out back. I'm thinking I will have to either modify the muffler outs to fit, or maybe get a rear bumper (Ruf and preferably vented). The latter though won't fit the 964 Turbo body so that ain't gonna work I thought. I'm selling, but if I can help the new owner, anything I can do in your opinion? Thanks! Bernie |

I never even got to hold it in my hands and see it close up. Oh well, I will enjoy looking at your beautiful car vicariously -- and some tears in my eyes for seeing mine go and gone. |
