Bat bring a trailer censoring porsche

Who had the same experience. After I made several comments about a vehicle Porsche 911S year 1967 I got a notification from BAT that my response is checked by BAT.
The response then was not PUBLISHED on the auction site.
Only the positive comments I had left before were published.

It ALSO seems that the auction site prefers certain sellers while not working with others.
IF we can not make fair remarks or the remarks only get published when BAT agrees to it.

I have heard this now from numerous people.

MIAdragon 10-26-2022 06:52 AM

What were the “fair” comments?

Otter74 10-26-2022 10:10 AM

Sometimes comments get trapped in their spam filter. It's happened to me.

DrAANTON 10-26-2022 10:14 AM

It just happened again. This time I kept a photo session of the events. BAT does censors comments. Wondering how many people overpaid on BAT because constructive comments were removed.
This must be in the 100 of Millions!!! Any lawyer listening to this. Unfortunately I am not

Matt Monson 10-26-2022 10:51 AM

This has been discussed before. Posters they think are shyte disturbers get put in a bucket where they review your comments before letting them through. It’s total rubbish, but it’s under their control.

917_Langheck 10-26-2022 11:59 AM

How is there an expectation that your opinion merits posting on a page you don't own, pay for, or control?

Rick Brooklyn 10-26-2022 05:45 PM

At the same time, many cars every day get dissected and bad repairs or false claims spotted and highlighted. It's not so black and white.

This one is not a Porsche but a good example of commenters keeping the sellers honest

have you overpaid for a car? have you bid on any cars? or simply commented sharing your expert advice & analysis on presented cars?

a place like BAT does not need some serial know it all in my estimation. as a moderator for a couple jeep sites i suggest you've been reported for being a douche. happens all the time. it's why pelican no longer allows comments in their car ads. too many know it alls not good for BAT business....

GTF over it and get a hobby.

Hahaha. Brilliant.

Excellent response

MrBonus 10-28-2022 08:05 AM

BaT will automatically censor certain keywords or posts of significant length before allowing them to be published. Perhaps no one bothered to review your comment. They also have a naughty list of users (habitual offenders of basic internet decency) that are under permanent moderation.

First of all I would never buy a car on BAT, but what about all the fellows who actually did buy a vehicle when valid comments were removed.
With other words they overpaid or would have not bought the vehicle at all.

These questions were actually removed?

What is paint thickness?
Why has the Porsche not been inspected at a Porsche Classic Center before listing?

These are two examples of removed comments.

I am not surprised about the responses I am getting here. Some of the morons might be proud about there 1000Plus finger up feedbacks on BAT so they get offended.

BAT discourages the SELLER to get a PPI - The site it is based on emotions to lure a poor fellow in.

Before you buy a Porsche
-have it inspected by YOUR shop of choice, avoid the auction sites.

BaT doesn't discourage PPIs. I've gone to view a number of cars listed on the site just like eBay or CL.

BaT is just another avenue to buy and sell a car. If it's priced right, buy it. If it isn't, don't.

calling people "morons"? is that productive? have you appointed yourself the protector of the poor, emotional fellows? With the content in the above quoted post I see why they delete your comments. it was just as i figured.

I stand by my original comment on this thread.

Matt Monson 11-01-2022 11:27 AM

Some morons don’t know there from their.SmileWavy

MrBonus 11-01-2022 02:04 PM

I am proud of my 9000+ likes. I earned them.

You would never buy are car on BAT but you feel the need to go on and comment.... Enough said.

Maybe tiktok, FB or Insta would be a better place to post your expertise....

I wish BAT required people who wish to comment had at min 50% of the expected sale price in Escrow with BAT. Sort of a "Put up or STFU" idea..... Would make more people list reasonable cars on the site. Far toooooooo many EXPERTS post on BAT who will never ever be in the market for a car they are ****ting all over...

Just another open mic for people to step up to the podium and say their piece when they do not belong there... Find a different hobby.

You are correct though, get the car inspected before buying. That can be done on BAT as well.

Cheers

This is interesting to me... I sold a Volvo Amazon earlier this year and the car was a bit crusty but I was overly honest about the issues it had. The auction was trashed and trolled by numerous people, whom obviously weren't buyers, and BaT would do nothing about their purposely defamatory commentary.

I will never use BaT again because of this experience

Couldn't disagree more. 100% of the value of BaT is the fact that many competent eyeballs pore over every minute detail of the car and pick up on issues that a non-expert civilian wouldn't even think of.

Yes some comments are stupid and in bad faith, most are valid and valuable and reduce the informational asymmetry between the seller and a prospective buyer.

If you remove the comments from BaT you are left with nothing of value, you have a one-way platform inviting dishonest sellers to lie through their teeth about their cars.
