WTB Porsche 944 roof rack
I am looking to buy a roof rack and all necessary mounting hardware for my 1987 944. Part # 94480100500
Any help on finding this would be greatly appreciated! I know this is basically hunting for bigfoot but... legend has it there are some roof racks out there!

Yes...kind of like hens teeth and very expensive if and when you find one. In the meantime, I've "settled" for a Yakima rack. Works very well, although I will soon do a mod involving affixing metal plates to the outside edges of the rear rack, which will bolt into the existing points located under the hatch along the upper edges - originally made to help secure the Porsche rack. At any rate, here is my car (stranded prior to my rebuild) with its yakima rack, with two kayaks (cross tie rope makes rack look wider than it actually is):

OK-944 Thanks for your response. I have seen a couple people going the Yakima route... Im definitely interested in going that route too if I cant find an OEM.
What is the weight support like on your set up? Just curious if a roof tent is even a possibility lol |

Not sure of the exact weight capacity of this setup...but I'd think pretty much along the lines of the OEM rack.
But I would be very hesitant about the roof tent idea! |
