A used Singer for 1.2 mill.?!

Another symptom this air cooled market is completely out of hand, no?

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-porsche-911-singer/

Whats next: 6 figure 924s?

discuss...

That’s what it would cost if you wanted to get in line and have them build one, but you can buy it tomorrow instead of 2025. I bet it goes $250-400k higher by the hammer.

It'll be north of 1.5 when finished. Maybe more.

Once the ICE is made illegal to produce these will sell for double or triple.

No frills 1985 Carreras with high miles for 100K.

It breaks the whole mold of what the old aircools are all about, mass production rough and tough pull out a wrench sort of car and replaced it with a ding bat version that pops out of a can, no, if I had 50 mil in the bank, that would not even be close to making the list of porsches I'd consider. I'll take an old race car anyday, the gt3 looks pretty good too

Didn’t singer announce that the were sunsetting the 911 backdate/restomod program to focus on the 930… I think I read that they felt they had done everything they wanted and were looking for new projects.

If that’s the case and you can’t order a singer backdate anymore then yeah, 1.5 seems about right.

I like them, I appreciate them, but don't think I would spend that kind of money on one.

With that being said, I'd sooner spend 7 figures on a Singer that is truly bespoke over a Lamborghini, LaFerrari, 918 etc.

The new carbon chassis Ruf would be my choice all day. Singers are great, but still a 30 year old car underneath. No amount of nickel plating or woven leather will engineer that out.

I too would go for a RUF over a Singer. But that is like me debating which Hollywood movie star I would date. Ain't ever gonna happen.

I have actually sat in the famous Yellowbird, and see a few other RUFs in person. I have never seen a Singer in person.

I guess the engine comes with a lifetime warranty except for down shift over-rev that is stored in permanent memory? Otherwise, what do you do with this car? At >1mill for a modern re-incarnation, it best be bullet proof beyond reason.

The super wealthy don't think like that. The money doesn't matter. To lose 1/50th of your net worth shouldn't hurt anybody of substantial wealth.

It's hard to fathom, but while the super rich live differently, they also think differently. If they lose a car or want another, they just go and get it. There's no "what else could I do with this money" internal conversation going on. Even at the low end of the super rich spectrum, a $1 million car ain't nothin'.

It's not what's a better value or faster or nicer. If they wanted both a RUF and a Singer, they can have it. They don't think in either/or terms.

I bet the supply of 964 chassis dried out just like lake Mead.
I guess is the next best thing according to their futures marketing department.
7 figure 930 here we go

So poor guy with 10 mil net worth buys one and it sits in the garage while he worries if it's value has gone up? Fun.

The 50 mil rich guy doesn't care, but probably has other interests.

I do appreciate the concept, attention to detail, and exceptional finish of a Singer. I just don't care to own one, even if I did have too much $$.

Yep. A lot of the people buying these cars are driving them. That’s what they were made for, and for people of that wealth it’s just another toy to be played with.

Fair analysis. But only a dope with a $10M net worth buys a $1M car.

I bet the guy selling this car on bat is the lower category, wants his cash for the next toy, surprised he didn't go to the big live auction houses.
