Pricing Sanity Check
 

Hi All!

I'm about to list our '89 911 (impact bumper) for sale and wanted to make sure I'm in the right ball-park pricing wise.

94K miles, just had clutch and rear struts replaced. Engine/trans-mounts done recently, VCG done last year, great driver. About to take care of two small fiddly things that need addressing (sunroof needs to be adjusted and replacing the stock head unit with a blaupunkt one, keeping the old one), but no idea what realistic pricing is like. Looking at Hagerty it seems like 78K-113K depending on the condition/color. This car is in very good condition, Linen Grey metallic over linen grey interior. Unmodified car (well I'll be installing a stereo that is usable without tape adapters, so basically unmodified), no evidence of accidents. Was a Texas car, then Arizona and now new jersey, never driven in the rain since I got it home 8 years ago (I drove it back from St. Louis where I picked it up).

Bring a trailer is all over the place with pricing and of little help.

Does Hagerty's range seem about right? Thanks!

Pretty car. Last year before body change. I'm guessing this car is very desirable. I myself like the color combo.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but $113K for a car like this seems very high. I'd guess more toward the lower end of the Hagerty range. The more documentation you have, the better the condition, the better the interior and the better driving feel will all contribute to the sale price. I'm gonna say $80-90K.

A very solid 3.2 G50 in the northeast is a desirable thing.

mrRed - from another thread, if you listen to the chatter, coupes carry a premium over the lowly Targas...with a $90K on the books at BAT, if you compare your car you can make an educated guess as to market - up or down. Last year, silver and coupe, everything else being equal, I think you coule easily be north of $100K to the right buyer. If you want to put the time, effort and pain into BAT, it does seem to reward good cars, albeit after extracting its pound of flesh.

I love watching BAT, but found my car through Pelican... not a bad place to start.

This is more of a $90k car than the BaT car in a thread partway down the page. You could ask $100k and be negotiable, imo.

If it's got the original head unit installed, leave it in! If it's got a modern head unit (I'm looking at you, shiny Alpine CD player), chuck it and replace it with something that doesn't look so out of place in a 1989 car.

Couldn't do a shiny alpine cd player, player. Had to keep it in the family.

If the original head is installed, leave it in I’m sure it works better

I don't have any experience with them, but the new Blaupunkts sure look the part!
