Was this the highest price for an SC

Just noticed this. $105k. Doesn’t look any better than mine and I paid $12k for mine in 2007. I do have 10k more miles. Hard to believe. I love my car but can’t imagine spending this much on one

Is there something I’m missing here or was this just an anomaly

NYNick 04-21-2023 04:30 AM

Geez Louise, that's high. Good for us, as mine is probably better in many ways but that color is stupendous.

Glad I bought mine when I did.

Matt Monson 04-21-2023 04:53 AM

10-15% of that price is the color.

I paid 50 cents for my hamburger in 1978

sugarwood 04-24-2023 02:30 PM

Rebuilt engine
Spotless undercarriage
Rare color

ramonesfreak 04-24-2023 03:23 PM

None of those things justify the price. But I guess if a guy wanted it bad enough then good for the seller

And 2007 (when I got mine) is not 1978

- I’ll put this out there. If anyone wants to trade a base cayman 2017 or newer with pdk, silver exterior and black interior for my 911 - PM me

I just sold a very similar 83, same color that went for a very close number
The color is fantastic for sure and helped a lot

It is amazing. I had a (from new) 911SC platinum metallic with cashmere interior. Virtually flawless except 144,000 miles. I tried to sell it in ~1993 for $13k and after months, no luck. I tried ads w/o mileage and when they called, of course, they asked about they mileage - when I responded they hung up. When I listed the mileage I never got a call. Granted, I put a lot of miles in 10 years.
My problem was solved when our old friend, Wayne Kreiger, offered to market it for me, but needed to keep it in his shop. A couple of weeks later it was inexplicably totaled and, of course, no insurance except mine. I cut my losses. Too bad it was a nice car without a single scratch or nick.

144k miles on a 10 year old car is a lot different than 144k miles on a 40 year old car.
Good on you for driving it like a commuter car !

This one was 1980 14,000 Miles / 74 Carrera look :)
