30k for SWB sport seats, insane
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-porsche-911-sport-seats/
They are heavy and not comfortable after a couple of hours and a lot of people do not even fit in them; If missing on your Kardex, ok, but any other reason just seems crazy. |

Just wow. I had a pair of ratty cores I sold for $6k back in the first big SWB pricing run up of ‘07-09. I had paid $2500 and flipped them and thought I had made a killing. I’ve never even paid $30k for a complete running drive SWB car!!!

Matt, I did not like the one I had and sold it for $2,000 in about 2012. I think the big stink over these is bragging rights at cars and coffee, because they are not comfortable to put in a car you want to use.

hardly ever comment here but that is one of the dumbest purchases I've ever seen.

You can have a running, driving, beat up old targa like mine or a pair of seats.

And I thought I did well getting $2K for a set, but that was close to 40 years ago.

I paid $15K for a 78 SC that had like 68k original miles and was perfect in 2000. might have been BAT worthy today for more than I can imagine... instead, it became the 23 car..
30K for seats? my new hobbies are way cheaper...

Not SWB, but back in 2000 on a trip for 20 year HS reunion I spent a month working on a 73 E targa I bought in So. Lake Tahoe for 1300 bucks . The sun shot sport seats were swindled from me by my college friend Dave who still lives in Costa Mesa CA. He say then I'll trade you for my ripped seats out of my 73 S for 200 bucks, PLUS a new set of JC Whtney seat covers for them.
I didn't know what they were worth then even in shagged condition, not to mention now. I'm glad in retrospect because he's a life long best friend and he got them. What pisses me off now almost 25 years later is he has never restored that 73S or the seats and still retains both. I ain't saying he's cheap or anything. He's just tighter than 2 coats of paint!! Actually, as I recall, the 200 dollars was for the seat covers, not in my pocket!

There were four bidders up to $13.5k, then three up to $15k. That used to be the top of the market for early sport seats. But two guys kept slugging away for the next $15k. What a world.
