Tool Expert Wanted

I have a bunch of tools from various years but no complete kits. I have done my homework and know exactly what tools are from what years but I do not know value. I'd like to sell them all.

If anybody out there is a tool guy or knows someone who knows the value of these things, I'd appreciate the lead.

I have various tools from a one year only 1963B all they way up to a 1982-89 911.

I already got an offer for a screwdriver and a set of pliers but I don't know what they're worth.

Thanks guys

Nick

If you've got the '73 red handled combo screwdriver, you can retire! :D

The bad news is I don't have that combo screwdriver.
I do have the flat one.
The good news is I'm already retired!

this has got me to thinking i recently found what i believe to be a full tool kit in my garage. don't know if it's from the SC or the 75. not to hi-jack, but i may post a photo here if NYN does not mind.

Hello, I received an email from a friend regarding the tools you have, if you PM me/or email me, I will be able to help you sort through all your tools.

OMG Tobs. I think you might have the Unicorn Yellow Combo Screwdriver in that kit. Ignore the PM's and let me do some homework. That could be worth some serious money all by itself.

I'm going to the garage to get it and put in my gun safe until I hear back from you, and Mocker...

That’s not red.

so, what is your call on the rest of the set?

could it be from a yellow Cab Ruf?

Matt Monson 07-07-2023 08:32 PM

Totally correct for a Ruf. Rofl.

The waffle cover says mid-year. The SC would have been smooth.

Looks like you're missing the tow hook, 19-22mm closed end wrench, fuse pack and fan belt.

wow, cool site NYN. You must have done a deep dive cause that site was not shown on my google search after your post got me thinking about it.

im pretty sure the tow hook is around here somewhere, I just have to get too looking for it.

Mocker 07-10-2023 08:30 AM

From that site, here's the 73-only kit with the uber-rare red combo driver:

Toby, if you want to sell me the tool kit LMK I’d like to keep it with your 75.

Still running like a bandit - haven’t had the time to get it painted back to its original gulf blue, yet.

Lots of good advice so far. I can't help with valuation but IIRC Pete Stout wrote an extensive well illustrated piece about aircooled toolbags and their contents a few years ago for his 000 magazine.

You might try to get in touch with him to see whether he cares to offer an opinion on value.

did i send the SC tool kit with the domino when it headed out your way? i actually thought about you when I was digging around for it and thought you might have been salty about me keeping it if I posted here... i should have kept the extra set of 6x16 fuchs....

im glad you are loving our hotrod 75.. have you learned to tickle carbs some?

tell us a bit about what you've done, show us some pictures, have you replaced the rear bumper? many long timers here will remember my domino purchase and build thread... show us how it's aged and I will send you the tool kit for shipping cost.
