PCA buying cars?

Has anyone ever heard of the PCA buying a car from a dealer? A local dealer of all types of sports and exotic cars claims that the PCA just purchased a 74 Targa from them. They also said that they sold a more recent vehicle to them a week or so ago.

It surprised me that the PCA would actually take ownership of a vehicle, assuming it's true. I was just curious to see if anyone knew anything about this.

Yeah, I had the same thought, however, it just seems like there would be too much risk in a fifty year old used car. The PCA routinely raffles new cars, which transfers the risk of product failures to Porsche.

It's not a big deal, I just thought it was interesting and was curious if anyone had any knowledge of it. Thanks.

Did you read the piece? PCA paid Porsche Classic to restore the car, that they then gave away in a raffle.

They currently have been working on a 964 project. Although the car was donated.

Are you sure it was PCA and not PCNA? I know PCNA is buying up classics to have for their classic training program.

Here are just a few cars purchased by PCNA to use as training vehicles and they have one of every engine made for classroom use.
