Current Value 80-84 Sport Seats

What are these currently going for: 1980-84 Black Sport Seats. Original leather, no rips or tears. Leather isn’t exactly supple but still in very nice condition. Edit: Those aren’t spots on the seats, some dust was floating by as I was taking the picture and was caught in the sunlight

Don't think so. These are not the '74-'79 versions.

I'm a bit at a crossroads with these seats. I love them I just wish they were Burgundy.

The original (burgundy) comfort seats need re-upholstering. The price to redo either the comfort or sport seats are not that much different. The sport seats are fine as-is but they don't match the interior of my car (I picked 'em up a few years after I got the car). If I sold them they would pay for the recovering of the comfort seats but then I'd lose the wonderful sport seats. If I recover the sport seats I then have an old pair of torn comfort seats.

Can you have them dyed? I’m in the $3k camp fwiw. The seats are light and comfortable.

Recover the sport seats and unload the comforts. Car will always be better to look at and drive, and worth more, with the sport seats.

As an aside, why do they call them comfort seats? they most certainly are not. Maybe for fatties. Marketing I guess.

Was there ever a thread on "I hate my sports seats and want normal seats?"

I don't know how well dyeing a dark color over a dark color will turn out. I like the thought of new leather (and the smell...) but deciding which to do is tough.

My 86 had a driver’s sport seat and a passenger’s comfort seat, from the factory. That’s what I would do. Recover one of each, keep the core driver’s comfort seat. Sell passenger sport seat to defray the cost.

Thought I had a unicorn. I had an 87 that was ordered that way that I bought from the original owner.
eastbay, " Maybe for fatties"? I wondered why, one of each, probably best I never asked.

We bought a European 73 911S, with this (but the early seats) configuration, so it has been being done for a long time.
Not necessarily for "fatties" but dainty wife's and ladies

Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I've decided to keep the sport seats and have them reupholstered to match the burgundy interior. They're too nice to let go.
