Beware of e-Bayer dr911porscheparts and EPS

FYI, I’m having some problems with an e-bay guy. After purchasing a fan and shroud made by EPS from our host, I found them to be sub-standard. Real grainy surface on the shroud, and then the lip was polished (why???). The EPS fan was also returned because the surface color was modeled gray tones. I went on e-bay, dr911porscheparts is the vendor. I bought a shroud and fan from him. The fan and shroud were genuine porsche parts, but they were nasty. Fan shroud was pitted and had raised lumps from poor casting techniques. Beware of dr911porscheparts, he stated in my conversation with him that they were not the parts he sent. He stated he personally inspected them before sending. The styrofoam box was taped by Porsche and untouched until I cut the tape. His x-ray vision needs a cataract lens implant.

What amazes me is the quality of the parts from Porsche! The original surfaces going back to 40 years ago were much better.

Real easy to return with eBay buyer protection; “Parts not as described”, money was back in my account as soon as it was sent back (shown delivered) on some **** parts I got. They even provide the return label no cost to you.

Hi, thanks, I did the return using his shipping labels from the site. The buyer protection is probably the way it will go. His immediate statement was that the photos I took were not the part he sent. I hope that doesn’t slow things down. Plain and simple is that it doesn’t fit my car, and he set up the ad to say it fit a 1983.

That specific vendor is well known in the Porsche community to send substandard, incorrect, or simply no part at all and blame it on the buyer. You can search his username in the main tech forum and find a ton of hits.

I nearly bought a few things from him a few years back and something told me to do a search before hitting "buy now."

What I have found, with other parts, is branded at a lower price is not factory spec. My guess is they go out the 'back door' and resold. Specifically in my case it was diesel filters for a 1 ton and H2O filters for a fridge.

He got the parts dropped off using his label. In his response on the return, all in CAPS, that i sent him back used painted parts. I spoke with ebay and told them the situation. The dr911’s ad stated the part fit a SC. Which most here know that stoped in 1983. This part was for the 84 to 89. They gladly made up the difference. So all is good on my end, ebay ate the difference, and he gets a small black eye.
