997 Rennlist Market
I don't comment on other peoples for sale ads unless it is positive, but I have seen some shocking, to me, run of the mill 997 prices. I know the 997 is a great car, but has the market shot up recently and I am just out of touch?

997.2 cars are hard to find if it's a good one. Especially if it's in a rare color.

I’ve noticed the 997.2 cars have significantly outpaced my 997.1.
That extra .2 liters is a must have for some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

997.2
My take on what drives up 997.2 values -The economy was really bad when they came out (not many were sold), lack of availability used. The updates to engine/chassis were nice also - no IMS issues, DI, interior updates, etc..
Once the IMS issues started to take out quite a few cars the 997.2’s started a slow climb in values above 997.1’s that continues. I had a friend looking for a 997 around 8 years ago when IMS issues first started popping up. I advised him to look for a 997.2 6 speed manual coupe. He bought a nice, low mile 2010 Carrera coupe. A few months ago he sold it and made $20k. Being able to enjoy a modern car and make a little scratch on the back end is nice… Now everyone is concerned with bore scoring for almost everything water cooled Porsche has made… |
