Transport from SFO to CLT (or near)
Anyone running empty from San Francisco back to the Southeast? I have made a deal on a '65 BMW 1800ti which I will need transported. She runs and drives fine.
I can "go commercial". but would prefer to have a more personally involved hauler. If we can even get her "close" to Charlotte, I am OK with driving her the last leg. Thanks in advance, Dan 704-993-8335 cell |

Dan,
Try Joseph. https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/1147323-1972-911t-e-engine-sale.html This is his car for sale. Sounds like he’s going to be in CA this month regardless. He has a 2 car hauler. He used to transport cars for Chuck Stoddard. He’s transported several cars for me. He’s a retired LEO and really meticulous.

Go here: www.montway.com Put in a few details and come up with an online quote that is hard to beat. I have transported more than 30 cars thru them. They are middlemen. You pay them $199 to set up the deal and then you pay the transporter in cash when car is delivered. They claim $1,000,000 in insurance. Very satisfied overall with this company. Called Montway Transport. Gerald |

Be careful if you call a middle man or put out a quote request. I helped my daughter transport her car from CA to NC and got absolutely flooded with calls, texts and emails. It was ridiculous. A couple guys were downright rude when I told them I was price shopping, trying to save my daughter some money. The lower the quote, the less timely the transportation will be. I settled on a mid-priced quote and it went well, but wow, did that experience open my eyes about that industry.

Thanks to all. I have tried the broker deal years ago. Never again!
In the end, there was more rust than I want to deal with. Car was in Cali, but had spent most of it's life in NY. Wasn't too rusty for a NY car, but too rusty for me. |

For next time: I use Eliot https://www.viaconcours.com/ for shipping. He's a broker, but vets all the drivers and takes care of everything. Always cheaper than Uship, Monteway, etc, and I trust him with the weird stuff (inops, race cars, spare parts, etc).
