996 Carrera 4
I'm considering buying a '99 Carrera 4 but one thing I'm trying to track down is if the 0-60 times between the Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 are different. I thought I read once that the all wheel drive slows the car down but I can't find any diffinitive 0-60 times compariing the two. This is a coupe by the way. Any information out there on this?

You're right, the C4 is heavier than the C2, and slightly slower. I would guess that the difference is less than 5-10% though...

Actually, I think the grip coming from four wheels allows the C4 to initially out accelarate the C2. But then the weight factors in...

Hmm...I can't find any direct comparison tests, but for the '99 model, Car & Driver did test a C2 and later a C4. 0-60 for the C2 was 4.6. ..for the C4 was 4.9...
