Cab/targa/coupe

Why is there more CABs/Targas for sale. I've been looking for 87 - early 89 Carrera and noticed that there are more cabs/targas for sale than coupes. What are the problems/issues with the power sunroofs?

Only in 1987 did the coupe build numbers for the US exceed the build numbers of the Cabrio. In model years 1988 and 1989, Cabrio's outnumbered coupes. So, add in the Targa production, and the cabs and Targa's outnumber coupes by quite a bit during each model year.

In 1989, the 964 C4 came out, so 3.2 production was down a bit since the 964 sucked some sales away from the 'old' car. Model year 1989 3.2's have the lowest build numbers of the G-50 3.2 cars.

Probably the most common issue with sunroof cars is the sunroof cables breaking. Next might be the sunroof motor failing.

Hope this helps,

Jay
