Price check on 2000 911 Carrera

I have a chance to pick up a 00 Carrera with 103,000 on odo, black, black leather, ac, ect...everything works and drives well. Without a PPI what is it worth? The car is for sale for $22,000 and has clear carfax and clear title.

That's a steal, assuming it doesn't have the dreaded engine block problems. I would NOT buy a 996 without a leakdown test and a thorough going over by a knowledgeable mechanic, personally. These cars in nice shape typically sell around $30,000, and a new crate engine from Porsche costs around $10,000, so rolling the dice at $22,000 would probably be OK. Check the VIN at a dealer...it might have already had the engine replaced! If so that would be the steal of the year.

It's a very good price. The dreaded block problems really aren't that bad - the leaky oil seal is, well, a leaky oil seal. As for the head gasket problem, we'll see if that happens more...
