Anyone see this roller at LA Dismantlers?

When I say see, I meant go over and actually look at the car. Here's the link. "Todd" of LA Dismt'rs says the interior stinks to high heaven. Now, I'm concerned that the car was in the Katrina debacle or something similar. Currently has a CA plate (in the pics) and he says he bought it from Beverly HIlls Porsche at a lien sale. No recent floods in CA, but is could have been hosed down with fire sprinklers or something.

If no one bid and it's still there, something is wrong. I just don't want to drive 100 miles to find out. Anyone? Anyone want to go look? I'll buy your gas. And lunch if we meet someday.

Thanks.

Milt I ran a carfax on the car.

The first record of information I receive on the car is on feb 24, 1993 where it passed a california emissions inspection and had 75,303 miles on it. It was inspected 2 more times once in 1997 with 107,987 miles, and the last emissions inspection in california on march 1st 1999 where the car had 119,544 miles. In 2001 the car was titled or registered in Seattle, WA. Then on may 19, 2005 it was titled or registered in Pasadena, CA. There are no records of theft flood damage or anything else. I hope that helps. I paid 25 bucks for carfax today to look at a car and plan on abusing it as much as possible for the next 30 days so if you need me to look another car up let me know.

Wow! Thanks much! That was really beyond the norm. A good case of one Pelican helping another.

I am very glad I could help. Being that I don't know how to weld, drive a 911 well, and have only the ability to disassemble cars my technical prowless is limited. So I am glad to help in any way possible. I am talented at buying rusty 911's though I can definetly help anyone with that. Good luck on the hunt, and let me reiterate that I will gladly look up any VIN numbers (must be 1981 or newer) for anyone by July 15th.

Well, you're all set to be in the parts business, LOL. Serously, if you need help on any of the other stuff, that's obviously what the Pelican BBS does. And, I'd be glad to help on the rusty stuff if you need advice.

BTW, I've done so much rust repair that I'm actually looking for a solid car for once.
