1980 930 Price$
I just stumbled upon a nice 1980 930 non-sunroof Euro with the equivalent of about 38 k on the odometer. Car has been titled in another state and owner has EPA paperwork. Ended up talking to the driver and asking if he wanted to sell. Turns out he was thinking about selling, because he has a new project coming, so we started talking. No $$$ discussed. We took a ride and he is going to call with a number if selling is what he ends up doing.
Interior/exterior condition is very-- good, not a car show material or garage queen, but very--good driver condition. Usual rock chips, door edge touch-up,minor finish issues, but still very clean no dents. The interior was very--good with nice leather and a clean dash, only issues were one missing knob and a sticky window switch. Everything is stock and appears fine. Went for a spin and car pulled very well inoto the low triple digits. Motor is stock and apparently has never been opened. Owner says may need front rotors as it pulsed slightly on braking. Sorry for the long 1st post, just like some educated input on price. |

my brother in arizona has a 1979 turbo with only 25K original miles. very clean in and out and the guy wants $25K

38k is not that many miles... I would think for such low mileage, the cosmetics would be pretty nice, but it's an old car...
In a state where emissions testing is mandatory, these gray market cars tend to be priced a bit lower. In my area, this may be a $25k car based on the description you provided. Also, maybe a tough sell if it had not passed any emissions testing in it's recent past. |

I would expect the 38k stated miles to be false. Unless you have iron clad documentation and the condition of the car matches the mileage just go by the condition and the PPI, compressionl, and leakdown results.

Thanks forthe replies. It is all very preliminary. I just saw the car and started talking to the owner. I asked if he wanted to sell and he mentioned taht eh had another car and has been debating selling. He is supposed to call me either way.
I had a pretty good idea what they are worth and wanted comfirmation. |
