Bill of Sale for Texas
Anyone know where I can get a bill of sale form for a car I plan to buy in Texas?

Wayne I've been wrong before, but I think when you buy a car the seller should give you a bill of sale? ? Kinda like a reciept. Maybe Texas DMV has a form or something that you could use.

You should get the title signed by the seller. If there is still a lien the seller will have to get it released to get the title for transfer.

A bill of sale doesn't mean much in Texas.
If the car was titled in Texas before, then you can request a copy of the title from the DMV. If you're the owner, then you can get a negotiable copy of the title. Demand that the seller submit the paperwork to the DMV to get a new title. It costs about $10. The alternative process involves affidavits, posting a bond, and other messy, time-consuming steps that make using a title washing company in Alabama or NH look attractive at $200.
