1977S Targa to Cab conversion value
Sorry for the long winded write-up, but, I am trying to use my car as a trade on some work I am having done and I need to know what the members of this board have to say as far as value is concerned. I still have my 1977S that I was trying to sell a while back. I decided to finish the interior and top so I wouldn't have to explain why the rest of the car was so nice and the interior wasn't. I have had a lot of nibbles at 14,000 but never set the hook. The only thing wrong with the car is it has low (but even) compression. I had one buyer that I gave erroneous numbers to, I have since had the numbers checked and found that all cylinders are between 105 and 110 psi.
this was the original ad 161,xxx miles, this car is in excellent shape and needs very little work to absolutely be complete. All updates have been performed on this car (11-blade fan, pop-off valve, carrera tensioners, case-saver inserts, 16" wheels, etc.) Motor was rebuilt at 105,000 miles. The car had a California Customs Convertible Conversion done in 1999. I have owned the car since 2000 and have all receipts since the car was new. Since I have owned it, I have had the following done: repainted Irisblau, replaced all rubber body seals purchased and installed linen colored interior out of a ‘92 installed World Upholstery carpet kit polished Fuchs new Khumo tires new seat belts new fuel pump, accumulator, w-u-r new brakes new rotors new brake lines new stabilizer links new seals in motor new rear lite in convertible top new aero mirrors transmission overhaul in October 2005 The only thing that hasn’t been done is some trim work on the top (lost the trim pieces when getting the car repainted) and some very minor interior finishing. The car was originally a/c and I still have the underdash outlets although I have replaced this with new knee pads below the dash. The heat exchangers have been removed, because of some oil that leaked into them about 4 years ago and I was afraid of a fire and thought I would eventually get new exhausts. Car runs really well, I was told the shifting will smooth out with a little use. I have driven it about 300 miles since rebuild and it’s still a little stiff. I was going to sell it about a year ago and the transmission started making little noises, so rather than have someone get upset with me over a transmission problem, I thought I would fix it and drive it another few years. I am asking $14,000 which is a lot for a ’77, but this car is really nice. Some additional information. The car also has a Sachs lightweight clutch(less than 1,000 miles), a Porsche short shift kit, all new electrical engine components (including plugs, wires, condenser, cap, coil, control module, etc.), new Sony AM/FM/CD. Once again, I have receipts for everything since this car was new. This is a four owner car that originally came from San Diego. There is abxolutely no rust and I have pictures when the car was media blasted to prove it.

thanks for the reply,
you said about what I was expecting, but, at the same time, there is absolutely nothing else wrong with the car. Everything else on the car is new!!!!
