Price range would be $18-22K. On the plus side, the car has low miles and should be in "as new" condition given the low miles. On the down side, depending on VIN #, the car may have sleeved cylinders which were problematic for more than a few owners and result in catostrophic engine failure when they let go. In my recent search for a used Boxster I have shied away from '98-99 models because of those failures and I believe the resale values reflect this unknown.

"the car may have sleeved cylinders which were problematic for more than a few owners"

Is there a way to figure out if it does or doesn't have them?

Yes. I read somewhere.. not sure if it was on rennlist.com or ppbb.com (Porsche Pete's Boxster Board) of the Vin number ranges for the cars with the "sleeved cylinders". I thought I read it was all '98s and some '99s but I am not 100% sure. Heck, someone out here on Pelican in one of the other threads may know.
