Is this car worth 34k ?

1991 PORSCHE 911 TURBO, 78K mi, Exhilarating performance. Outstanding mechanically. Minor aesthetic issues, otherwise terrific, $34,000,

The aesthetic issues are gaurds red paint that does't match and alot of curb rash on the wheels. The carfax is good, and it looks like the roof of the car would need to be repainted to match the rest of the car. anyone?

Good quality paint cost, what? $6-7K? I'm just guessing here. Also don't know what Turbo wheels cost. I'd ask why the paint is mismatched. Accident?

That price is ballpark IMO if it’s a clean straight no questions car. But if you have to paint the roof and the rest of the car is not a good match already you might as well do the whole thing. That just begs the question why do the other panels not match? The curb rash on the wheels can be fixed for a price too, just signals lazy ownership to me. I personally think it comes down to the records, the PPI and the deal itself. Will the seller allow a PPI and when you see all the other items that need to be addressed can they be factored into the negotiated price? It’s a 15 year old car so there will be other items of just normal ware and tear. Is this a dealer car? I know of the guards red 965 at a certain questionable dealer in TX that’s about the same miles.

Heck, you could but a new set of rims for under $1,000. The paint is the real mystery. Turbos were bought by well to do people. They were also usually maintained quite well. Mismatched paint screams of accident issues with the car. I would start at 34K and deduct paint costs, assuming its history is clean.. maybe 28K is more realistic.

Thanks for the replys. The car is very nice, except the roof paint does not match the rest of the car. The owner (not a dealer) had it to a local dealer before he put it up for sale, and all little things were fixed, needs nothing to drive it now. I don't think they did a leak down or compression test. So i guess what i am interested in is how much it would cost to respray the roof (windows out) to match the rest of the car. Thanks for any input..

Get a leakdown test before you do anything else.
