1988 Cab TL
Hello everyone. My first post here on this forum.
I would like to get opinions on what you think the value of a 1988 Cab TL with 62k miles one owner would be? It is blue with tan interior. How rare are these? It is a factory TL by the way. I appreciate your reponse. |

It's in MN. No pics yet. Condition could be 6 or 7 out of 10. I currently have a 89 944TS and would like to also have a 911. It may need a new top and the paint may have been damaged in a garage fire? It does need tires I have been told. I may be able to get if for around 10k

Sounds too good to be true frankly. A typical car in relatively good condition should bring mid 20's for that year and model. I would be highly suspect of any M491 at that price. There was a salvage title America Roadster that got bid up to 17k on ebay last year and that thing needed 10k of work done to it to make it even presentable and that was just cosmetic. I would insist on pictures and the VIN # of this car before you spend to much energy on it.

A factory G50 (87-89) TL cab is very rare. Don't have the numbers off hand for all the years, but I know the factory says there were 16 TL cabs in '87. So 87-89, maybe 50 or so.
There was a white one here a year or two ago, I think it had mileage in the low 50,000 range. The seller was asking around $36K. Some people said he was way too high, but he got asking price for it. It was a very nice condition car, although the white exterior and mahogony brown interior probably wasn't the best for resale value. Sloan has sold some low mileage late TL cabs for very high prices, I think in the high 40s or more! But these had very low miles. The thing about these cars is that because of their rarity, originality counts for a lot. The car you are looking at sounds like it has been significantly damaged by fire. Without knowing the condition, it's hard or impossible to give a value. You haven't given enough info. Although, if the car runs and drives and isn't burned to the ground, $10K seems awfully cheap. |

U.S. car or ROW? That would probably make some difference.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replys! I got pics of the car but not sure if I should post since I haven't made an offer yet. I would feel ok emailing them if you are interested. Basically the same car that Shawn has listed here for sale. The top is blue is the only difference. The paint on this car looks like it has been outside or has been dulled by heat having been in some sort of garage fire. I don't think the entire car was affected based on how nice the interior still is. I am looking to get the car at a good enough price that if I have it repainted and do what mechanical things may need to be done and still not be upside down. I am planning on looking at the car in a few weeks. Do you think $10k is a good price with the possibility of paint, top and possible mechanical would be a good risk? I know the car started right up. Vague I know but I know 944s not 911s ![]() |

If I could see some pictures I could give you a better idea. I have been tracking numerous sales over the last year and have a handle on the market. You can PM me or send directly to reynoldslaw@adelphia.net.
