Well, by the time it's a classic, the people that love the MGA will likely all be resting in peace The Boxster is on its way to becoming an "affordable classic" like the 914. What's missing is a "halo" version, a high performance model that adds to the appeal of the lower models and inspires replicas. The longhoods have the RS, the impact bumpers can be made to look like 930s, and the 914s can become 914-6s.

Sure, people are shoehorning the 996 engine into them, but that's not the same as Porsche releasing a high performance model to replicate (and provide a factory upgrade parts option).
