Valuation of 1973 911 S shell with matching #'s motor

Anybody have any opinions on the value of a 73 S shell with the matching number motor that it is pieces. Chassis is straight and rust free but it is totally gutted.
Thanks,
Phil

It's pretty expensive to replace the bits and pieces. You could buy a donor T and most everything would be a perfect replacement. But the few things that were "S only" like the oil cooler system and sport seats are going to be heartbreakingly expensive. In the world of Duesenbergs, collectors routinely take less and build show winners. But it costs them hundreds of thousands. You could easily spend $30K putting the car back to 'nice stock' condition. And it would never be worth as much as the ones that were kept intact for 34 years.

I need to get COA a fair amount of 73 S 's did not come with front cooler or sport seats I know the aluminum rear deck and front spoiler are spendy, I have a line on those already. Certainally a nice stock 73 S is worth a quite a bit more than 30K. It would be a project of substantial proportions.

AFAIK, none came without the front cooler and few came without the sport seats. The aluminum deck wasn't used on the '73. The spoiler will be spendy. If you get the car for free, you might do it for $30K. I've seen complete cars offered for less than that. Unless you've done this before -- and I have -- I'd tend to call it more of a roll of the dice than a 'project.'
