Black 87 911 on Evil bay

So I'm taking micro baby steps towards owning my next porsche and decided to focus on g50 coupes and newer. Now I really have no interest in purchasing a car from ebay but like many of us I glance there to so what's on the market...

Stumbled on this one from Victory, caught my eye, a g50 coupe in black no tail, ebay item # 140066578131

Looking at the pics, see the pic of the Vin plate, it is a euro model, say to myself hmmm, euro not sure I would want to deal with the headache, since there are pics of paperwork, look to see if they have the paperwork from when it was federalized (right term?), notice that the vin on the paperwork is different from the pic, and from the top of the listing....

see this is the kind of crap that scares me from getting into the "early" 911 market again...

comments?

I recommend a search on this site regarding Victory. Allegedly, they have been known to sell poor quality cars, pay off PPI mechanics, bait and switch cars and other nasty seller tactics to get your business. I'm sure they are very nice on the phone. Caveat emptor....

BTW, nice looking car and good choice!

I was just gonna ask about Victory.. they have one of the best body shops around.. they sure make a car look shiny.. but I just wonder whats underneath?? They NEVER post structural elements.

Umm, that's totally normal.

It is very common (usually is the case) that the VIN in the front trunk has ZZZ in the number. I guess when they stamp the chassis, they aren't sure if it's going to be a ROW car or a US version.

Based on the paperwork, that's a US car. I'm sure if you looked at the VIN on the windshield pillar, it would be the correct US VIN.

(Still, I'd do due diligence on Victory, including searching this site, just as I would with any purchase from a used car dealership).

Yeah, heard lots about Victory, they sure shine up nice, but I wouldn't buy a car that long distance and they're starting to get a bad rep around here.

I actually did not know that at all about the vin stamp on the front trunk, learn something new everyday, but also a bit telling about Victory that they didn't show the stamp on the pillar...
