That is the same # I came up with also. The 'AT' in the stamping means it is a Factory exchange or replacement case. So the #'s were stamped by the Factory which is not a good as the original of course but better than a blank case IMHO.

There is supposed to be 30 targas, but I have never seen one and neither has anyone else I know.
:)

Hi Brian,

I see there is actually a thread on the Early S Registry that says that the 911/83 engine was put into 30 narrow body targas for the Belgian Police in 1976. There are apparently only two surviving one being owned by the author.
Don't know how to link to it but just do a search on 'European police Targas'

Hi Guy,

Thanks very much for the info. I just looked up that thread (I must have missed it when it was new) and saw the photos. I stand corrected, Porsche did produce 30 '76 MFI Carrera Targas. Very cool.:)

Brian,The guy with the 76 you mentioned in this post on the "S" Registry: http://www.slide.com/r/4ypAAu6U4D9CKjtJxMseVZbA64jYhwDO is also the same guy taking a lot of heat over his sales on e-bay of a less than well disclosed 911 to a new buyer. The info is on both Pelican and the "S" Registry.Proceed with caution!
