value of 1968 911 L

I may want to sell a 68 911 L with a sportomatic. It's in very original condition; it runs, although the transmission is slipping. It has 5 original factory fuchs, the body is straight, and has the usual rust.
The interior is in good condition. The seats are in good condition.
With restoration would be a very nice car.

What would be the minimum and maximum price I could expect from this? Additional photos are available, just need to get them under 2 mb.......so I can email them to you.

A little friendly advice: Serious buyers appreciate serious sellers. If you have made up your mind to sell it, say so. If you haven't, say that. But the whole "maybe want to sell it, maybe don't" tends to discourage people from taking any serious interest in the car because there's no indication that the time they spend researching it, asking you about it, having a PPI performed or any other prepurchase diligence will be time invested in an outcome.

Not trying to be a jerk, just giving you some guidance that may be helpful in the even that you decide to sell, or not.

i found history of a 911 L that sold in 2002 at auction for 4800.
appears to be in worse condition than ours.

So what sort of range did you come up with?

I meant to sell mine last year and got side tracked... I definitely need to sell it this spring. Figuring out values of L's seems to be tough as they seem to not sell very often and when they do they seem to be real fix-er-uppers.

$5K may be about right as she sits. A very presentable cosmetic/mechanical "driver" restoration will run you $10-25K depending on how much of the work you guys do yourself. And then you'd have a car that was worth $15-20K(?) in todays market...guessing here.

So, what have you and Jeff decided to do?
