Advise on selling
I think the time has come to sell my 66' 911. Motor, trans, suspension, brakes are all new or rebuilt and documented. I am the third owner of this car, and the COA confirms it's all there except the original paint. The problem, I think, is that I live in Hawaii, which makes it difficult for potential buyers to examine the product. I have considered shipping the car to California, where I have family, and the car can be stored. Any experienced sellers out there that can offer advise? Thank you in advance![

I haven't quite stepped-up to the plate, but I'm headed in that direction. As much as I love this car, it's in remarkable condition, and the thought of it sitting covered in my garage, in Hawaii, well, it just doesn't seem right. I can relax and have a lot more fun in my modified 81'. The thought of getting hit, or dinged isn't so tragic. In the 66', it's another story. I can see you're local, so I don't have to tell you about driving around on the island. I believe the 66' has the potential to be a concours car, and it should be in the hands of someone that can get in done. They're aren't that many left, in this condition. Thanks for the reply Bryan.

Jon,
Sweet car. I know how slow the market can be on cars like this on the Island but I think you could set a (slightly higher than) realistic price and advertise on the Hawaii PCA page, Craigslist, Post Pig and Ebay, hang up fliers on all the Military Bases. Another thing that might be good is when the Super Ferry starts Island Hopping it could speed up the market as it will be easier to get the car to the outer islands. Have you considered your asking price? Best of luck, Shane ![]()

Thanks Shane. Haven't figured out where to start on the price. To be honest, I haven't quite gotten my mind around the idea of selling.
