What the Fuchs?

Attempting to gain a basic understanding of the various Fuchs sizes and price range for the earlies; as originally equipped that is.

Let me take a stab:

sizes range from 14X4.5 to 15X6?
Esses were larger?
Comfort packages were smaller? (14" instead of 15" on LWB)
And what is a deep six? Especially if it's only 5.5 wide? An early S wheel?

Prices one may expect for a set of average to above average wheels?:

14 $250-$500
15 $800-$1200
Deep 6s - $$$$

I've heard that 16X7 is the largest one would want to go while avoiding fender edge modification.

Am I totally off base here?

I am not aware of 4.5x14 Fuchs

I have seen:

5.5 x 14,
4.5 x 15,
6 x 15
Oh, don't forget the famous "R" 7x15 fuchs, used to fit in the rear of a narrowbody, or early car without flares.

While I can spot a "deep" six, I somehow can't describe it in a manner that makes sense. Sorry.

On this note, I'm looking for a set of 4.5x14" wheels for my dad's 1967 S. Have you seen them at $250-500? I'm under the impression demand is high and they're becoming scarce. What does the market look like for these wheels nowadays?

Cheers,
Justin

67 S fuchs

1967 911 S alloys are 4.5 X 15 not 14 and will have a heart shape in between the petals where the valve is.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1180023960.jpg

67 S Fuchs

expect these to be much higher than deeps
more like 500-700 each wheel
a matched set will command premium over mismatched
different year stampinghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1180024192.jpg
