3.6 engine swap pricing?

I know of a complete drop out 3.6 motor / tranny / wiring / fuel / driveshafts for sale. He wants me to MAKE an offer, it has like 30k on it, came from wrecked 92 911 (i think) Its NON TURBO of course.

Any idea what something like that is worth? I dont want to screw myself and offer too much.

thanks

Make Offer sounds like he doesn't have any idea what it is worth either. I've seen good 3.6 engines for as little as $5K. I'd recommend that before you purchase it you have the standard tests done - compression and/or leak down etc.

Yeah this is a complete swap with tranny, wiring, ECU, everything!!!

Are the miles documented? Any chance the engine / trans could have been harmed in the accident? I think 5k isn't a crazy number to offer and see where it goes from there. The 92 is a decent engine, but it's not a Varioram ...
