87 911 Carerra

Could anyone give me a price on my 87 Carerra? 62K miles, excellent condition, body straight, no leaks, new leather seats, and dash, brand new Michelin's all around. Runs beautiful, AC works.

Thanks very much.

19k to 22k....IMO

22K is too low. I would say 24K minimum.

This 1988 with 48K miles sold for 28K.

Without pics, its real hard. Some folks definition of "real nice" or "all original" etc may be inaccurate. Why would a car with 62K miles need new seats and dash? AC works or AC is COLD?

I can't explain it, but there does seem to be a recent spike for G50 cars, but I think the 18-22 range is more appropriate.

Why would you put new leather seats on an '87 with 62k miles and a new dash? Was the car parked in the hot sun all the time with the windows closed? I would check the odomoter on that. I have an '89 and '86 and the dash and leather are fine. Just a thought. If its super clean low twentys sounds good..

The car was brought up from Miami. I would imagine the sun and heat were to blame for the dash. Only the drivers seat needed to be fixed. I did them both as I really wanted to keep the car and get it to absolute mint condition, but a new home requires me to sell. :(
I have all the papers on the car, it was serviced by Butch Stokes who was recommended by the Porsche Chapter in Florida. I will post some recent photos.

Thanks for your replies.

Nice pics. You have a PM.

Looks like a nice car. I'm from Miami and Butch is a good name to dorp.(just retired).the car should bring between say $23-26 range. List it on Rennlist, Porsche Club National and your local PCA among other places. EBay is very good. The vast majority of the cars sell outside the auction and it gives you international exposure. Looks from the picture you have 7 and 9's for the wheels, that's an extra.......(over $2k for that alone if sold seperately). good luck.

Thanks for all the info and advice.

Nice looking car I am with acegx 23 maybe 26 with patience. Dont use eBay as a price guide just becasue that auction says the car was sold at that price does not mean the trade went through.

I had several auctions for a couple of my cars where the buyers never pony up.

I'll agree with others. Insure the car is very clean, waxed, and vacuumed. Dust off the motor and dress the engine plastics. Photograph the car in full sunlight 1/2 hour before sunset or 1/2 hour after sun up. Get a less washed out shot of the interior (more cloudy days help with interior shots).

Address any minor issues that are quick fixes (hood shocks, minor oil leaks, tire out of balance, etc) and price that thing at $26k. It'll sell all day long since it's a popular year, popular colors and relatively low miles.

Good Luck!
